Week-Long Trip:
                      Iceland

EUROPEAN ADVENTURE TOUR # 4

ICELAND – LAND of FIRE AND ICE

June 15 thru June 24  2012

Iceland, the land of the midnight sun, is a wondrous landscape of spouting geysers, hot springs, and multicolored valleys stretching to the sea.  Outside Magazine, March 2011 quotes:  “Anyone lucky enough to visit Iceland comes back goggle-eyed and open-jawed with tales of an untamed island of volcanoes, waterfalls and unrivaled natural beauty.”  Lonely Planet ranks the Westfjord peninsula, the beautiful and untamed region Northwest of the island, one the top ten regions for travel to in 2011.

We will have our own private tour bus and guide and will be traveling to a different destination every two days, traveling up the west coast, ferry boat ride to Westfjord peninsula, the knitting capital of the world, and the famous Strandir coast.  Our final 4 nights will be in the vibrant capital city of Reykjavik , where more adventures await us, most especially a trip to Pfingvellir, the site of Iceland’s ancient parliament, and the rift valley where North America and Europe divide.

We will do lots of sightseeing!  We have scheduled three hikes of 3 hour duration. We will have optional opportunities (pay as you go) for kayaking,  boat rides, glacier trekking , visiting museums, fishing, whale watching, biking, longer all day hike, Viking dinner, and more...
