2015 Mid-Week Trip:
Quebec City Carnival, Canada
February 3-8, 2015
Quebec City Carnival plus Skiing at Mont Ste Anne and Le Massif
Join us for 6 fabulous days in Quebec. If you've never been to Quebec's Carnival before - this trip is a MUST. If you've been, you know it's hard to fit in all the festivities let alone a day or two of skiing. With this extended stay trip you can do it all!!
We will spend 3 nights at Chateau Mont Ste Anne ideally located at the base of the Mont Saint-Anne ski resort offering ski-in, ski-out convenience and an amazing tiered hot tub, that will fit our entire group. Each room is fully equipped with a kitchenette for your private apres ski party.
Mont Saint Anne boasts 69 trails spread across three sides of the mountain offering ski terrain for all abilities. Enough terrain to keep us busy for two days. Mont Ste Anne is also noted for their impeccable snow conditions. Seek out the Sugar Shack for some snow taffy - a Canadian novelty.
Le Massif has the highest vertical east of the Canadian Rockies and offers 52 trails and glades Fifty-three percent (53%) of the trails are rated very difficult (double black) to get your quads burning. If double blacks are not your thing, no worry, there is top to bottom skiing for all abilities - and the views are incredible as the slopes appear to run right into the Saint Lawrence River.
On Day 4, we'll head into Quebec City for our two night stay at the centrally located Quebec City Marriott. Walk out the front door and you'll be surrounded by the magic of Quebec City, steps away from Carnival venues, the Citadelle, fabulous restaurants and all that Quebec City has to offer.
We'll be there for the second weekend of the World's Largest Winter Carnival. Highlights for this weekend include a visit to the Ice Place, the International Snow Sculpture competition, the Sleigh Race, night Parade in the lower city, and on Sunday the Ice Canoe races. While there, don't forget to sample the caribou - the liquid variety and yes, be a child again and zip down the ice toboggan slide!
Optional Activities include: Sledding (luge) at Le Massif, visiting the artist town of Charlevoix, Touring the Ice Hotel, Taking in the historic sites in the area, and Cross country skiing at both Mont Ste Anne in Quebec City to name a few.
